MISSION STATEMENT
Our name says it all, “We Help Communities 2 Develop Corporation”, (We Help).In 2015, a group of civic minded individuals from a small Western community in South Florida came together with the intent to further the community and the group’s desire of making their community a safe, decent and affordable place to live, work, and raise a family. The primary reason for the Board’s organizing was to address the needs of the people in our Target Areas whose main concern then, just as it is today … safe, decent and affordable housing.
Safe, decent and affordable housing was and is remains so important that We Help made it the primary focus of our mission. In fact, our name is our mission. We help to empower individuals and families in multiple counties throughout the state, to achieve their part of the American Dream and to develop a community where residents can be proud to call home.
HISTORY of WE HELP CDC
In 2014, a small group of civic minded individuals from Belle Glade, Florida, a small Western community in Palm Beach County, came together to discuss creating a non-profit organization that would address the social, economic and housing needs in various Counties in South Florida. In January 2015, We Help Communities 2 Develop Corporation was formed with the intent of furthering the dream of making their community, and others a safe, affordable and decent place to live, work, and raise a family. Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer, Dr. D. M. Walker, We Help CDC became a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved and certified Housing Counseling Agency, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and a Department of Treasure approved Community Develop Entity.
We Help CDC is dedicated to assisting very low, low to moderate income individuals and families address various concerns in their communities in which they live. Although our primary goal is creating new home owners in the communities we serve, We Help CDC uses a comprehensive approach to all housing related services that focus on finding sustainable solutions to help families and individuals obtain and maintain their homes, improve living conditions, job growth and wealth creation. We are, what we do, We Help Communities 2 Develop!
We Help CDC stands at the cutting edge of not only assisting people attain the “American Dream”, we are developing our Community Development Entity Program to assist industrial and businesses start, incorporate and operate their own businesses.
We recognize that a home is probably the most valued investment a family or an individual will make. After the investment during these difficult economic times many individuals and families are facing difficulties making their mortgage payments or purchasing a home. In these difficult economic times with many have lost their jobs or underemployed, they find it difficult just to maintain. Through counseling, financial education and support, We Help strives to assist many Floridians in their efforts to stay in their homes and make an Action Plan to meet their families and individual housing needs and goals.
